Aftercare

The whole concept underpinning Euromedica's provision of cosmetic surgery abroad relies on providing holistic aftercare for our clients in our luxury recuperation centre. We concentrate on providing extremely high levels of hygiene to minimise the potential for any post-operative infection. Every patient is closely inspected by our medical staff each day, including Saturday and Sunday, coupled with the cleaning and sterilising of all incisions.
We specialise in providing aftercare that is geared towards the process of post-operative skin renewal and treatment of scar tissue. People's healing abilities vary, with the majority of our patients healing very well within 2 weeks, whereas some may suffer longer from post-operative bruising. We give advice on treatments that are highly beneficial to patients who have undergone surgery with the aim of reducing healing time. We also provide access to a range of specialist skin care products developed by dermatologists that minimise both post-operative bruising and post-operative scarring.

Another aid to recovery is the fact that our patients come to us in groups of 6 to 10. We feel that this arrangement provides a highly therapeutic pre and post-operative environment for our patients which is conducive to better and faster healing. Being in a group provides our clients with the ability to compare their healing rate with each other, increasing the feeling of reassurance that everything is running smoothly.

Medical Day Spa

The primary purpose of our in-house medical day spa is to improve appearance. Our highly trained staff have degrees in science & technology and in depth knowledge of human anatomy thus incorporating their expertise into providing the best care to speed the healing process. Once the healing is in progress we start working on wellness applying gentle lymphatic massage and refexotherapy which stimulate the immune system.

Personalised advice is offered as to the most effective medicated beauty treatments following the surgery as well as access to the specific post-operative treatments designed to reduce bruising and swelling. After a face-lift the skin is dehydrated and in need of nutrients that can be delivered by cosmeceutical product (a biologically active product that combines skincare with science to deliver drug-like benefits). Therefore we

examine the patient's skin and decide on the treatment that will best suit their skin type. Our range varies from unique cosmetic products such as fish collagen containing polypeptides and amino acids, which accelerate the healing process, to strong, highly effective Vitamin C serum (unavailable in the UK). Both act on the formation and the synthesis of the triple helix in collagen. Creams containing plant placenta, which are also available, are ideal to help the skin regenerate after cosmetic surgery procedures. Studies have been carried out in Croix Rousse Hospital in Lyon showing that plant placenta provides strong cell regeneration by being involved in the basic activity of living cells.

 

Our unique approach to post-operative care ensures that our patients are guided throughout their convalescence period. Our doctors, dermatologists and beauty therapists are highly trained and our patients do not need to pay for a consultation to obtain advice as to the type of treatment they need, be it a medical peel, microdermabrasion, botox or Restylane fillers or autogenous fat transfer. The facility employs high-tech devices such as ULTRACONTOUR which is non-invasive lipolysis that emulsifies fat that which are subsequently eliminated from the subcutaneous tissue.

Microdermabrasion is also offered as an alternative to chemical peels. The DIAMOND PEEL provides a gentle yet effective mechanical peeling of the skin resulting in healthier, younger looking skin. It can be applied to face, neck, arms and hands as a treatment for ageing and sun-damaged skin.

Our patients are highly satisfied with the pedicure treatment, which involves the use of an electric pedicure appliance that removes dry, cracked skin from heels and around toes. As a result feet remain soft and smooth for a long time and easy to look after. To finish the overall beauty treatments, our top stylist works on patients' hair, carefully choosing the hair style that best suits them. This can radically transform the looks and take further years off them.

Our patients are provided with all inclusive accommodation in our purpose-built luxury recuperation centre, complete with an in-house beauty salon offering expert make-overs.

All procedures are conducted in the adjacent clinic, ensuring the availability of 24 hour medical cover and comprehensive after-care.
